As you may know, I am in my third year at the London College of Fashion, doing a degree in Fashion Pattern Cutting. This year is all about making my own collection and I’m less than a month away from handing in 4 complete outfits in final fabrics. Yesterday was the fitting of the whole collection. 4 lovely models came in to try on the toiles, and with the tutors we discussed what was working and what needed improvements… I have a lot of small amends to make, 1 additional garment to make (apparently look 4 needs a top under the jacket!) and there are still some decisions to make regarding the final fabrics. But I’m taking it one garment at a time, and trying not to feel stressed. Because they are only clothes and it will all be fine! 😅

Get a glimpse of my job as a freelance pattern cutter. This week I was working for a client on bridal pattern amends. Tracing, notching, punching holes, cutting and tidying the pattern pieces. I am so happy about this new career of mine alongside my Camimade Patterns business.

The toiles of my 3rd year collection are ready! We're fitting all outfits at once with models next week to see how it looks as a collection. Then I will go and buy fabric and start making finals... It's going to be a tough month but I'm ready for it! Very exciting times for me, I can't wait to see all these garments in final fabrics with colours.

I took my Villers jacket on holidays in the south

I took my Villers jacket on holidays in the south of Spain and the least we can say is that I wore it many times! It's been a great companion for the holidays. Versatile and hard-wearing, there is room for underlayers when it's cold, and it's breathable when the weather gets warmer. I miss Spain now, but I have a very nice jacket for comfort. #camimadevillers
